About Me
Obviously my name is Josh Tuttle. I am currently the owner and developer of Psycho Goldfish Creative Media, a free web gaming site featuring a bunch of flash games I have made over the years.
While I grew up in southern Ontario Canada, I now live in the Denver Colorado area. I met my wife here in the states back in the late 90’s and it didn’t take long before we got hitched. We have two kids who are both awesome, but can be huge pains in the ass, and a dog who looks and acts like a Muppet with downs.
I have been making games in one form or another since I was around 7 years old, starting from BASIC on a VIC-20 and rolling along to Flash and Actionscript.
I have found a certain level of success with my skills and have been able to make a humble living through banner and pop-up advertising. I know the rewards and hardships of running a website, and I think my experience may be of interest to a lot of people who want to find success themselves.
Back when Flash 5 was big, I made a few open source game tutorials and just had them sitting on my site with minimal promotion. This was back when I didn’t make a dime from my traffic and was still cutting my teeth on Flash. In spite the fact my skills were still budding, the lessons seemed to get around, and to this day I am amazed to hear from some very talented people, they started with MY lessons.
I guess that always motivated me to keep helping people, because you never know who’s going to show promise and end up making something really fun that would otherwise never exist. And so, here I am with a blog site, hoping to renew that feeling and help where I can.
When I’m not “working” I’m either spending time with the family, or helping out on Newgrounds where I am a BBS moderator. When I get the time to hit the BBS you can usually find me in the Flash forums.
